Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to wait until you are stressed or injured to get a massage. Any time is a good time for a massage. Massage is like a health-supplement or a preventative care for a person’s body and mind. A regular massage is a great way to cope with physical or emotional stress and to keep it from causing discomfort or harm to your body.
In general, nothing about a therapist’s gender will tell you about the style or quality of massage they give. Some people are more comfortable receiving a massage from a person of the same gender, some from a person of the opposite gender. While no professional wants their services refused based upon their gender, they also realize that if you’re nervous about who is giving you the massage, then you won’t be able to relax and enjoy your massage. Please feel free to request whichever gender you prefer for your massage.
Massage therapists have seen a wide variety of bodies; different shapes, sizes and colors, from young to old. Your massage therapist will not judge your physique; they are professionals who have found massage to be a wonderful gift to give men and women alike, regardless of age or weight.
Do I have to be undressed completely? You should undress to your level of comfort. About half of our clients prefer to be completely undressed, while the other half prefer to keep their under pants on. Either way, you are the client and your comfort comes first. Our therapists are trained to work with you in all situations.
The answer to this question would depend on reasons for receiving massage. For those who use massage as a preventive care or to manage daily stress, one massage a month is common. Weekly sessions may be necessary if you are receiving massage for some injury relief or to relieve chronic tightness that is interfering with your daily life in some way.
If that is the case, weekly sessions could be essential for a while to build on each session’s improvement in healing. For most people, the frequency of massage visits depends on how well it fits into a budget. At elements therapeutic massage, we have several membership options to make it easy for you to afford the benefits of massage on a regular basis.

A license means that a massage therapist has met the requirements and paid the fee to legally practice massage in your city, county and/or state.
In some places that massage is regulated by the state, others are regulated by the city or municipality; many places have no licensing requirements. To obtain a license, a massage therapist will usually have to complete a minimum number of hours training at an accredited or accepted school or training center.
This can vary widely, from 100 hours in some places to over 1000 hours in other places. Certification means that the therapist has successfully passed a specific course or test and has been granted a certificate to bear out that fact. At elements therapeutic massage all massage therapists are required to follow the state or municipality rules to operate as a massage therapist within any elements therapeutic massage.
If the state or municipality does not require your massage therapist to obtain a license, elements therapeutic massage will require that therapist to take a nationally recognized test to become certified. Proof of therapist certification will be provided upon request.
